If you dabble with online slots in the UK, you recognise the gap between a run-of-the-mill game and one that just clicks https://5lionsmegaways.eu/. The original 5 Lions Megaways possessed that charm for many of us. Pragmatic Play has now unveiled its sequel, 5 Lions Megaways 2, and it’s beyond a simple reskin. This strikes you as a genuine improvement, designed for players who seek a timeless motif but aren’t afraid of some contemporary, bold features. It maintains the popular oriental lion style but refines all other aspects, adding refined features and a sharper, more volatile bite. This review will walk through why this slot suits so perfectly for UK players, highlighting its seamless mobile experience and its substantial reward possibilities, so you can decide if it aligns with how you like to play.
First Impressions and Core Gameplay
When 5 Lions Megaways 2 opens, you’re greeted by a familiar sight: a beautifully drawn Chinese temple that creates a grand stage. The iconic lion symbols are back, appearing more refined than before, alongside the traditional royal card symbols. The actual heart of the game is the Megaways engine. It now produces up to 200,704 ways to win on a individual spin, a big step up from the initial game. The cascading reels work perfectly; winning symbols disappear so new ones can cascade down, creating chains of wins from one spin. The soundtrack, with its traditional flutes and deep drums, complements the action without ever turning annoying. It pulls you into the game whether you’re comfortable at a desktop for the evening or just fitting in a few spins on your phone during a train ride.
The Crucial RTP and Volatility
For players who prefer to know the numbers, the game’s math is crucial. 5 Lions Megaways 2 has a default RTP (Return to Player) of 96.55%. That’s solid, ranking above the average you’ll find across the industry. But a word of advice: Pragmatic Play often enables casinos to choose from different RTP settings. Get into the habit to verify the paytable before you begin. Just hit the ‘i’ button, and you’ll see the specific figure for your session. The greater news is the volatility. They’ve increased it to a highly high level. What does that mean for you? Wins might not arrive as often, but when they do appear, they can be much greater. This high-risk, high-reward style is designed for players who love that building tension and who control their bankroll to withstand the game’s sharp swings.
Characters, Payout Table, and the Core Game
To get a feel for the game, you should understand the paytable. The lower-value symbols are the 10, J, Q, K, and A, all crafted with a Chinese art style. The more valuable symbols are the thematic ones: a golden fish, a turtle, a phoenix, and the impressive gold and red lions. The wild symbol is the game’s logo. It can substitute for any standard symbol, but not the scatter, and lands on reels 2, 3, 4, and 5. Here’s the key part: during the free spins, wilds can land with multipliers added. This is where the game’s biggest wins originate. Even the base game keeps interesting, thanks to the cascading wins and the constant anticipation that the next spin will kick off a bonus round. It ensures every spin feeling like it has a purpose, even in slower stretches.
Mobile-friendly Performance and Ease of Use
In the UK, a slot needs to work seamlessly on a phone. This game performs. Powered by HTML5 technology, 5 Lions Megaways 2 works without a hitch on iOS and Android devices. You don’t need to download an app. The interface is cleverly adjusted for touchscreens; buttons are well-spaced, and everything works as intended. The graphics are clear and the animations smooth, even on a smaller display. I’ve evaluated it on different devices and connections, and the performance is consistently strong. This mobile-first approach means you get the full show—the cascades, the bonus picks, the jackpot game—wherever you are. That’s exactly what a leading slot should provide now.
Exploring the Extra Features
The extra features are where 5 Lions Megaways 2 emerges from its predecessor’s shadow. The game offers you real choices that shape your entire session. The key way to the biggest payouts is the Free Spins feature, but how you arrive involves a bit of planning.
The Free Spins Pick Mechanic
Land several scatter symbols, and the free spins round begins. Instead of just handing you a predetermined number of spins, the game presents five various lion statues. Each one stands for a specific mix of free spins and multiplier wilds. This is a clever piece of design. You could choose a higher number of spins, say 18, but with lesser multipliers on the wilds. Or you could pick a more aggressive route: less spins, maybe 8, but with the opportunity for wilds to have much larger multipliers. If you enjoy having some control over your risk, this decision is fantastic. It allows you to shape the bonus round to fit your mood and your bankroll, whether you want a more extended, steadier feature or a brief, thrilling hunt for a big payout.
The Fu Babu Jackpot Extra Game
Then there is the new Fu Babu Jackpot Bonus. This can occur randomly after any non-winning spin in the base game. It brings you to a separate screen with a matrix of coins. You pick coins to reveal instant cash awards or one of four progressive prizes: Mini, Minor, Major, or Grand. Hitting the Grand jackpot is a uncommon event, indeed. But the opportunity to suddenly add a smaller jackpot or a cash prize to your total offers the base game a great extra level of surprise. It signifies a run of uneventful spins can transform in a flash.
Staking Plan and UK-Oriented Gaming
For UK players, adjustable stakes and player protection measures are crucial. 5 Lions Megaways 2 gets this right. The betting range is broad, typically beginning at just 20p and going up to £100 per spin. This renders the slot approachable for everyday users and big spenders alike. My suggestion is to commence at the bottom end, especially because of that very high volatility. This game requires patience, so adjusting your wager to control your gaming duration is a wise tactic. Employing the autoplay function with loss limits and single win limits—a typical tool at UKGC-licensed casinos—is a sensible way to stay in charge. The point is to enjoy the exciting ride this slot delivers, not to try and force a win during its inevitable quieter moments.
How It Compares to the First 5 Lions Megaways
Coming from the first game, I was looking for real improvements. The core essence—the Megaways mechanics and cascading reels—is still there. But Pragmatic Play made some clear upgrades. The most notable change is the maximum win potential, now a huge 10,000x your stake. That massively overshadows the original’s cap. Including the Fu Babu Jackpot feature is a big win, providing that extra shot of excitement. The visuals and sound are more sophisticated, and the strategic choice in the free spins round adds a depth that the first game missed. The original is still a classic, but 5 Lions Megaways 2 presents itself as a complete overhaul for today’s slot player. It’s for anyone who wants more features, bigger potential, and more say in how their bonus plays out.
Final Judgment and Who It’s For
5 Lions Megaways 2 stands as a strong sequel. It honours what made the original popular but isn’t afraid to introduce new ideas and increase the stakes more. The mix of extremely high volatility, a strong RTP, the thoughtful free spins choice, and the unpredictable jackpot feature forms a package that’s equally captivating and highly lucrative.
I’d suggest this slot particularly to UK players who:
- Favor high-volatility games and don’t mind waiting for a bonus to land.
- Enjoy having important decisions to make during bonus features.
- Appreciate high-quality design and a timeless theme delivered with a modern touch.
- Desire a Megaways slot with a reputable name but some truly fresh twists.
If that sounds like you, then 5 Lions Megaways 2 delivers an experience that suits perfectly. It’s a well-crafted blend of Eastern tradition and modern slot design that’s definitely worth your spins.
